DESCRIPTION: WW - Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master "Fat Lady," ref 16760, circa 1987, 42mm including crown guards x 48mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back Oyster case with chamfered lugs and a bi-directional 24 hour bezel, original red/black aluminum insert, brown leather strap, original Rolex black "spiderweb" dial with cracked lacquer surface giving the effect of a spider's web, applied white gold indices filled with tritium luminous material, date aperture at 3, 27J cal 3085, s#9623164, triple signed, inside back ref 16760. The dial currently attached to this watch is a genuine factory Rolex dial however is is for an earlier production 16760, included with this lot is the watches original non spider web dial. The perfect Rolex for the person who wants a sport model that they can beat the living daylights out of and enjoy to its fullest extent.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide to steelwork, plating loss to rotor edge as well as light plating loss on plates; excellent evenly aged spider webbed dial with no paint flecks, luminous material has aged an attractive yellow; excellent relumed Mercedes hands; polished case shows light wear, lug chamfers still visible, light dings on lugs and case side as well as wear on backs of lugs from being worn on a bracelet; original signed crown shows little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction. Original dial shows ample surface spotting and discoloration spots most notably around the date aperture and perimeter.
